This world is so number obsessive. We are all about how much money we make, how many hours we have to work, how many followers we have on Instagram, and so on. One of the biggest number obsessions that can be so detrimental to our health (along with all the others) is the number that we see on the scale. For some people, their importance in life, their worth is dependent on what the scale says every day they wake up. If that number is a pound or two heavier, their day is ruined. There is a rush of discouragement, a moment where you decide you would just rather give up then continue this game on the scale where the weight continually goes up and down each day.
